Look, my expectations were already pretty high. This has been one of the most anticipated movies of the year ever since I saw the first trailer and then avoided the rest to spoil it. But I still can’t believe I’m saying this, but this might be the best animation in DreamWorks history. Seriously, seeing is believing. This is seriously one of the most beautiful animated films ever made. Simply stunning from start to finish, full of magic and unparalleled beauty that fills the screen with color and life. It really is like a Studio Ghibli animation based on Monet’s paintings, and at times it’s even hard to process everything that’s shown in them. It’s certainly the most powerful animation I’ve seen since the first Spider-Man. and an evolution of what the studio did with "The Bad Guys" and "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish", and if you were wondering, it’s even better than all of them. I can only imagine how beautiful it would be on an IMAX screen and maybe even in 3D, and I’ll definitely be looking for that experience when it’s officially released, but even on a regular XD movie, it was a great sight to see, the frame takes my breath away. The story itself is pretty simple in concept and content, and if there’s one thing that could make some people criticize the film, it would probably be this. But I don’t see why anyone would, because it does everything it sets out to do in an excellent and irresistible way. I think people forget that even simple narratives like this take a lot of effort to make them work, and this film seems effortless because it doesn’t even have to do much and you immediately like it. It’s an extremely moving journey from start to finish, filled with very beautiful themes and engaging and beloved characters that are worth remembering. The pace is relaxed and knows how to use its time with the necessary patience, the action is measured but electrifying when it happens, and the emotional moments hit hard but never with a forced appeal, but because they deserve it with everything they do &39 triumphantly built it. The humor and melodrama are just the right balance, although it does lean more towards the dramatic side, but this is one of those that warms the heart in a very atmospheric and touching way.
