James Gunn pitched ‘CREATURE COMMANDOS’ before taking over DC
It follows a group of military superhumans consisting of a human leader, a werewolf, a vampire, Frankenstein’s monster, and a gorgon. Gunn then greenlit the project when he became the CEO of DC Studios. Series writer and creator James Gunn appears in the opening titles with a laptop typing up a script. .

The DC
Universe is promising and a welcome sight. The story cares about the characters and the animation is top notch. Speaking of the animation, the new ‘Tomorrow-verse’ animation is a must-see. felt very cheap and flat, with no life in the animation style or storylines.
The art style is fun & vivid & well drawn
AU of great stories like: „Under the Red Hood”, „Justice League: Dark” & „Superman: Doomsday” set the standard for quality comic book animation. I collected all the animated movies from that era & had no interest in the Tomorrow-verse due to the lazy writing & lazy animated art. But, Creature Commandos is a return to form for quality animation. I already care about the characters & the story is interesting.

James Gunn is starting this universe off right & making his next projects highly anticipated. The new Superman movie is definitely on my must-watch list. Back to the series, it’s only 2 episodes in but the anticipation & connection to the characters is there. „One Hundred Years of Solitude” is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
